The new National Assembly Delegation for Children’s Rights has shown that it seeks to collaborate with civil-society actors, childcare professionals and independent organisations defending human rights. It has already held ameetingwith the Defender of Rights.
A member of this delegation has also asked the CNCDH for anopinion on the violent deaths of children in the family setting. Once this opinion was published, pursuant to the Belgrade Principles, aconferencewasorganisedfor7 February 2024at the French National Assembly, at which the CNCDH presented the broad outline of its opinion and its main recommendations to deputies and senators.

The delegation has also heard from the Minister of Justice, the Minister of Education, the Minister of Solidarity, Autonomy and People with Disabilities and the Secretary of State for Children. One of the meetings held with the Secretary of State for Children related to France’sreport to the United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child.
