From2 April 2025, Fiosrú has taken on the role of dealing with complaints from the public about members of the Gardaí, a role that was previously carried out by the Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission. The government appointed Ms Emily Logan to be Ireland’s first Police Ombudsman, and she is supported by the Chief Executive Officer of Fiosrú, Ms Sheila McClelland.
