Human rights capacity support

  • Based on need, the committee consults representatives from government ministries or experts in the field and also involves civil society.

Functions

  • A committee of 14 members of parliament representing all elected parties.
  • Cooperates with EU institutions and the parliaments of other EU Member States, assesses and approves the national position before the European Council, oversees EU funding use, involves non-governmental organisations in EU processes and reviews EU-related legal drafts.

  • Regular involvement in the work of the Conference of Parliamentary Committees for Union Affairs of Parliaments of the European Union (COSAC) and in meetings within the framework of the EU common foreign and security policy
