Functions

• Provides professional social, legal and psychological services to adult victims of violence and human trafficking.
• Ensures assistance is provided to women in vulnerable life situations and their children.
• Develops and implements youth programmes and ensures training for educators.

Specific mandates

Structured cooperation with partners at national level

• Signatory to the memorandum of cooperation between non-governmental organisations and the Cabinet and the memorandum of cooperation between the Ministry of the Interior and non-governmental organisations.
• Participates in several thematic intersectoral working groups, including the Gender Equality Committee and the Permanent Working Group on Criminal Law.
• Cooperates with governmental institutions in the implementation of the national action plan on women, peace and security for 2020–2025.
• Cooperates with the Ombudsman’s Office.
• Frequently attends meetings of the parliamentary committees.

Structured cooperation with partners at international and EU level

• Participates in the EU Civil Society Platform against Trafficking in Human Beings.
• Cooperates with the UN Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women.
• Implements projects and programmes using EU or other international funding.
