The World Health Organisation Regional Office for Europe (WHO Europe), the European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE) and the City of Vienna have joined forces to organise the first international conference on “Eliminating violence against women in Europe”.
The event will particularly focus on intersectoral approaches and actions. The event will gather 200 participants from all sectors from 53 European countries. This includes representatives from ministries of gender equality and social affairs and ministries of health, as well as representatives of European Institutions, regional agencies, civil society organisations, experts and other stakeholders. FRA will speak at the conference on “Evidence gathering: data and indicators” and present current evidence on gender-based violence against women and outline existing gaps.
