FRA is organising a pilot workshop on Fundamental Rights and Holocaust remembrance hosted by the European Commission for its officials on 26 June in Brussels.
The workshop aims to reflect on remembrance and to address contemporary fundamental rights challenges within the scope of EU officials’ work.
Knowledge of the Holocaust is a key element of the collective European memory and fundamental rights principles should guide the work of all public officials. Experienced trainers will work with EU officials in interactive working groups on case studies concerning the Holocaust.
The trainers will facilitate human rights mainstreaming, for example when drafting legal or policy documents or when overseeing the application and implementation of EU law or when managing EU funds. An online training toolkit will be made available for further use by EU and Member States at a later stage.
The pilot workshop was developed by FRA and the European Commission in partnership with the Haus der Wannsee Konferenz.
