In January, FRA will publish two new reports on data protection. One will look at access to data protection remedies across EU Member States while the other will be a handbook on European data protection law developed together with the Council of Europe.
The report on data protection remedies provides an overview of the legal framework and the procedures people can use in cases of data protection violations. It will be made available on 27 January, on the eve of EU data protection day.
The handbook is the first comprehensive guide to European law on data protection and takes into account case law from the European Court of Human Rights and the Court of Justice of the European Union. The handbook is aimed at non-specialist legal professionals, judges, national data protection authorities and any other person that may be confronted with legal questions in the area of data protection. It will be made available at the 7th International Computers, Privacy and Data Protection conference in Brussels from 22-24 January 2014.
