FRA will address Victim Support Europe’s Annual Conference Victims of Crime in Europe: the future is now in Lisbon on 13-14 May.
The conference will gather 250 experts in the field from across Europe: victim support practitioners, academics, judicial practitioners as well as representatives from state authorities and Member States. FRA has undertaken extensive research on different groups’ experiences as victims of crime, including data collection on whether and where victims report incidents. In addition, FRA has recently published research on the extent and nature of support services for victims of crime across the EU, in relation to the demands of the EU Victims’ Directive. Drawing on these various research findings, FRA will present what victims are afforded in law, and what they can expect in practice – focusing on the provision of support to victims.
