Member States and FRA seek ways to improve hate crime reporting and recording

Representatives from across the EU will gather in Riga on 30-31 March to discuss ways to improve hate crime reporting and recording.

There will be a meeting of FRA’s Hate Crime Working Party where representatives of national governments will discuss issues such as training, multi-agency partnerships and how to encourage victim reporting. It will be an opportunity for participants to exchange good practices and share lessons learned. The Council of Europe, the European Network of Equality Bodies, the European Network of National Human Rights Institutions and the FRA hate crime thematic cooperation platform will also meet. The representatives will be debriefed on the discussions from day one, and discuss how national human rights bodies can help support efforts to improve hate crime reporting and monitoring.
