On 14-16 December, FRA will take part in an expert meeting in New York on developing an inclusion index for lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and intersex (LGBTI) people.
The process of index and indicator development was kicked off by the UN Development Programme (UNDP) and the UN’s Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in September 2015. This meeting will assess the contributions collected from civil society organisations as well as experts to ensure that the index reflects the situation of various LGBTI populations. FRA has been invited to contribute to the index development in the light of its expertise in measuring the experiences and opinions of LGBT people, most prominently through its EU LGBT survey. The meeting is being organised by OutRight (formerly known as the International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission), which together with ILGA has been invited to contribute to the consultation phase of the UNDP & OHCHR initiative.
