On 15-16 February, FRA will host the meeting of the CoE-FRA-Equinet-ENNHRI Platform on the rights of migrants and asylum seekers.
Participants will discuss how National Human Rights Bodies can further step up their efforts in tackling the challenges around migration in their countries. Specific emphasis will be placed on inclusion and integration of migrants, non-discrimination, and how to look at the specific needs of children, following a recent publication on the situation of refugee children by the European Network of Ombudspersons for Children representing 41 European Ombudspersons and Commissioners for children based in 33 countries. One of the expected outcomes will be to see how the platform could support national institutions in their work. The results of the meeting will feed into the platform’s 2016 work plan.
