FRA to take part in international round table on exploitation of migrant workers and human trafficking

FRA has been invited by IOM Switzerland to attend an international roundtable on the exploitation of migrant workers in human trafficking in Bern on 6 April.

FRA will present its report on severe labour exploitation and engage in discussions with Swiss experts on the topic of labour exploitation and trafficking in persons.

The roundtable will bring together various state, interstate and non-state actors from Belgium, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, and Switzerland to exchange knowledge and experience. Participants from Switzerland will include different federal institutions, law enforcement, labour inspectors and NGOs.

The main goal of the event is to set up a platform for exchange among experts and to contribute to the dialogue on preventing and combating labour exploitation and human trafficking. The roundtable will facilitate the informal exchange of views in a non-public forum under the Chatham House Rule.
