Holocaust education training for public officials

The Agency is helping to organise training from 22-24 November in Sered’, Slovakia, for public officials on fundamental rights, citizenship, and learning from the Holocaust.

Sessions will include testimony from a survivor of the Sered’ concentration camp, capacity building, and visits to Holocaust sites in Slovakia, including Sered’ Holocaust Museum.

Lessons from the past inform the present, and those from the Holocaust can help the promotion of fundamental rights and citizenship today.  Public officials are an important target group as they play a vital role in cultivating understanding among citizens, which makes them crucial in the fight against antisemitism.

The training is an EU Slovak Presidency event. It is a joint event involving the World Holocaust Remembrance Center - Yad Vashem, the Slovak Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs and the Sered’ Holocaust Museum.
