Workshop looks at Islamophobia and xenophobia in Central Europe

FRA will take part in a panel discussion during an Open Society Foundation workshop on 3 and 4 March in Prague on combating Islamophobia in Central and Eastern Europe.

FRA will talk about the role of European institutions in countering Islamophobia and how civil society organisations, religious groups collaborate with international human rights agencies and institutions can help combat Islamophobia. The workshop will gather about 35 representatives of civil society organisations, different religious communities, volunteers, and activists from the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia and Hungary. Representatives of the European Commission and Parliament will be also present, as well the European Network of Equality Bodies.
