Awareness event focuses on local policies for hate crime prevention

An awareness day on preventing discriminatory violence in cities is being organised in Dunkirk by the European Forum for Urban Security (EFUS).

Around 80 participants inclusing FRA are expected on 30 November from the city administration of Dunkirk and neighbouring cities, as well as civil society organisations and other stakeholders. The Agency will bring the EU perspective on the fight against hate crime, present its work and highlight the role of local authorities in preventing, raising awareness and supporting front-end actors in the fight against discriminatory violence. Presentations at the event will be recorded by EFUS to create an online module for French cities in 2018. This event concludes a series of cooperation activities throughout 2017 between FRA and EFUS on the ‘Just and Safer cities for all’ project on preventing and fighting against violent discriminations locally.
