Global threats ranging from terrorism to climate change pose societal challenges that directly affect local communities.

To explore the complex interplay between threats to European security, the measures put in place to address them, and changes in how society respond, SOURCE, the societal security network, is convening a conference in Vienna from 21 to 22 March entitled Global Threats, Local Actors.

During the event, the Agency will deliver a keynote speech, drawing on findings from its research on surveillance by intelligences services and fundamental rights. It will also give a presentation during a breakout session on harmonising security with human rights, and take part in a lunchtime policy meeting on biometrics and borders drawing on its research in this area
