FRA Director Michael O’Flaherty will be one of the keynote speakers opening the EU NGO Forum in Brussels from 5 to 6 December.

This year’s event will focus on ‘Human rights under threat: Exploring new approaches in a challenging global context’. The FRA Director will speak about the challenges that civil society organisations are facing in the EU, and give a preview on some of the findings of a new FRA report on civil society space in the EU, which will be published on 18 January 2018, with an event in Brussels the next day. The EU NGO Forum is organised annually by the European Commission’s External Action Service together with the NGO umbrella Human Rights Democracy Network. It brings together over 200 civil society actors from around the world.
