The Permanent Observer Mission of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to the EU will meet the Agency to exchange views on FRA’s findings from its 2nd European Union Minorities and Discrimination Survey (EU-MIDIS II) on the situation of Muslims in the EU.

Following the publication of the survey results, the FRA Director will meet with the Head of the OIC Mission on 20 November in Brussels. The FRA survey showed that the vast majority of Muslims in the EU have a high sense of trust in democratic institutions despite experiencing widespread discrimination and harassment. The survey interviewed more than 10,500 Muslim immigrants and descendants of Muslim immigrants in 15 EU Member States and provides a unique set of comparative data on the situation of Muslims living in the EU. The OIC and other actors outside the EU have taken a strong interest in the survey, given the unique nature of such data.
