RightsCon conference addresses human rights in the digital age

This year, RightsCon, one of world’s leading digital rights events, will take place in Brussels from 29 to 31 March.

It will bring together human rights experts, business leaders, technologists, engineers, investors, activists, and government representatives come together. The Agency’s Director, Michael O’Flaherty, will take part in a debate about the future of human rights and the need to ensure that legislation to protect rights is applied online as well as offline. Other topics at this year’s conference include countering violent extremism and responding to hate speech; freedom of expression; truth in an age of fake news; and empowering communities at risk.
