AGE Platform Europe annual conference looks at self-determination

The Agency will draw on its work to explore the links between rights of people with disabilities and older people during AGE Platform Europe’s annual conference in Brussels on 6 June.

It will focus on standards and challenges in terms of legal capacity, political participation and independent living. It will also highlight the focus chapter of its 2018 Fundamental Rights Report which this year looks at a rights-based approach to ageing.

The aim of the conference is to feed AGE contribution to the ongoing discussions at the UN and EU, in particular on implementing the European Pillar of Social Rights. AGE Platform Europe is a European network for the rights and well-being of older people.

The conference will bring together older people and their organisations, other civil society representatives together with researchers and policy makers.
