Conference marks start of EU’s new data protection rules

The FRA Director will address speakers during a conference to mark the EU’s new data protection rules entering into force.

He will speak to policy makers, business representatives and civil society about the empowerment of individuals’ rights as provided by the reformed legal framework. He will also use the occasion to launch the updated version of handbook on European data protection law.

It will bring together key stakeholders, including Commissioner Vera Jourova and Andrea Jelinek, the Head of the Austria’s Data Protection Authority and Chair of the Article 29 Working Party. The event will take place in Brussels on 25 May.
