From 7 to 8 March, the Agency will take part in a Eurostat task force meeting on developing a gender-based violence survey. Following the launch of FRA’s violence against women survey results in 2014, Eurostat – together with the national statistical institutes –began preparing the next EU survey on the topic.
It would be integrated into the European Statistical System, and capture the various forms of violence women and men experience. A number of national statistical institutes have agreed to pre-test and pilot the survey. This meeting will discuss the results of qualitative pre-testing, while the pilots will take place later in 2018. The results of the pre-tests and pilots will guide the development of data collection tools for the full-scale survey in 2020-2021.
