Discussing the use of EU funds for deinstitutionalisation

On 26 November in Brussels, the Agency will take part in the launch of the Community Living for Europe: Structural Funds Watch report on achievements and challenges in using EU funds to support community living.

The report contains examples of how EU funds are being spent on the transition from institutional to family- and community-based care and independent living and where challenges still remain. It also offers concrete recommendations for the next funding period 2021-2027.

FRA’s intervention will draw on the findings of the agency’s 2017 report on funding and budgeting for deinstitutionalisation for persons with disabilities, as well as the results of its fieldwork on drivers and barriers of deinstitutionalisation which will be published on 4 December
