FRA’s National Liaison Officers (NLOs) will meet in Vienna from 19 to 20 April to discuss the Agency’s cooperation with the EU Member States.
The NLOs will also explore FRA’s current projects, with a special focus on the Fundamental Rights Forum and the Agency’s work in relation to the Sustainable Development Goals. For the first time a representative of the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) will attend the NLO meeting.
FYROM appointed its first NLO in the autumn of last year, following the granting of its observer status to the Agency. Before the regular NLO meeting, the NLOs will be joined by national government experts on the implementation of recommendations from human rights mechanisms for a Working Party meeting on this topic (18-19 April).
This meeting is organised in cooperation with the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and will examine the practice of international and European human rights reporting and follow-up, and the possible role that the Agency could play in this context.
