On 15 May, the Agency together with the OSCE’s Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights will facilitate a workshop for law enforcement officers and officials responsible for (hate) crime registration in Slovakia.

The aim of the workshop is to raise awareness of the need to properly record hate crimes, to identify gaps in existing hate crime recording and data collection frameworks, and to discuss practical steps to improve these frameworks to a ensure comprehensive and sustainable hate crime recording system.

This is the fifth national workshop facilitated under FRA’s Subgroup on methodologies for recording and collecting data on hate crime. So far, FRA and ODIHR have provided technical expertise to Estonia, Lithuania, Portugal and Poland, with further workshops in other Member States planned for later in 2018.
