From 15 to 16 May, the Agency will take part in a Eurostat task force meeting on developing a gender-based violence survey.
A number of national statistical institutes have agreed to pilot the new survey in 2018-2019. Women and men will be interviewed about their experiences of violence.
The survey follows the approach of FRA’s 2012 violence against women survey, which asked 42,000 women in EU-28 about their experiences of physical, sexual and psychological violence, sexual harassment, stalking and violence in childhood.
The task force meeting will discuss the methodological recommendations and ethical considerations for national statistical institutes when implementing the survey.
