Youth and family judges discuss procedural safeguards and alternative measures in juvenile justice

The Agency will be a key speaker at the Association of Youth and Family Judges’s international biannual conference.

The event will focus on the rights of children and youth in criminal proceedings and challenges in applying alternative approaches and diversion measures. The agency will refer to its research on child-friendly-justice and minimum age requirements in judicial proceedings.

The conference takes place in Zagreb on 10 December.

While there, FRA will do a study visit to the child protection centre in Zagreb. It will also meet representatives of the Ministries of Justice and Demography, Family, Youth and Social Policy at Office for Human Rights to discuss legal and policy developments in regard to child poverty based on the Agency’s new report.
