European Child Rights Forum looks at the Europe ahead of us

The FRA Director will speak at the European Child Rights Forum in Brussels on 2 April about the main challenges of promoting and protecting child rights in the EU.

During a high-level panel discussion, he will specifically address the need to move ahead in protecting children in migration and to involve children more systematically in decision making.

As this year marks the 30th anniversary of the UN’s Child Rights Convention and the 10th anniversary of the EU Fundamental Rights Charter entering into force, the Forum aims at taking stock and looking ahead at this, the Commission’s annual conference on child rights.

The Forum gathers key actors from EU Member States, international organisations, NGOs, Ombudspersons for children, practitioners, academics and EU institutions to promote good practice on child rights.
