On 11 April, the agency will take part in a capacity building seminar on moving towards independent living and community-based care for adults and children with intellectual disabilities in Romania.
The seminar is being organised by the European Commission, thre Romanian Ministry of Labour and Social Justice and the Romanian National Authority for Persons with Disabilities.
It aims at identifying the key challenges and potential solutions to move towards independent living of people with intellectual disabilities. It also aims at raising the capacity of local and national actors to support the transition from institutional to community-based care for adults and children with intellectual disabilities, using national funds as well as EU Funding instruments.
FRA will contribute to the discussions referring to its own findings from its independent living project.
