FRA and the French ‘Defender of Rights’ are jointly organising an international seminar on the challenges of relations between the police and the public as well as current practices.
The seminar will bring together practitioners from different professional perspectives. These include police forces, public authorities, complaints bodies, lawyers, victim support services, civil society, academics and other experts, as well as representatives of international organisations and EU institutions.
The event will centre around three main topics: discrimination and unlawful profiling, in particular during police stops and searches; the management of public demonstrations; and the protection of victims and vulnerable groups.
The seminar will take place in Paris from 17 to 18 October.
The event is upon invitation only.
