FRA took part in the Salzburg global seminar on LGBT and human rights: new challenges, next steps on 3 June.
The seminar aimed to discuss future political and social-civic strategies to improve the human rights of LGBT people. FRA presented an overview of the challenges and obstacles in increasing knowledge of LGBT rights, drawing on the findings of the EU LGBT survey with a focus on issues of discrimination. Those attending the seminar included LGBT activists, artists, public officials and researchers from around the world. The diversity of participants who were innovatively brought together through the use of art and 'personal stories' to develop a narrative on the human rights of LGBT people, resulted in creative and engaged discussions.
