LGBT governmental focal point network meets in Rome

FRA attended the LGBT governmental focal point network meeting which took place under the Italian EU Presidency in Rome on 10 November.

This 10-year anniversary meeting was attended by representatives of 11 EU Member States as well as by representatives of non-EU Member States, the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, the European Commission and the Council of Europe. This discussion covered the new challenges ahead with a new EU legislature and the many legislative developments that have taken place at the national level. FRA presented its work including the conclusions from the conference ‘Tackling sexual orientation and gender identity discrimination’ which was organised with Council Secretariat and Italian Presidency on 28 October. Conclusions of this conference were submitted by the Italian EU Presidency and FRA to several Council Working Parties.
