Representatives from education ministries, education professionals and civil society organisations met to discuss the role of education in addressing extremism and radicalisation. The conference explored how this work can be better supported and developed in the years to come, in particular in the framework of the Council of Europe Action Plan to combat violent extremism and radicalisation leading to terrorism. The overall aim of the conference was to facilitate a multi-perspective debate and to support the bridging of policy and practice in this area. On 25 September, FRA also participated in the meeting of the Advisory Board of the Human Rights and Democracy in Action programme.
