Croatian Parliamentary Committees discuss difficulties trans people face

On 9 June, FRA shared findings from its LGBTI work with Croatian Parliamentary Committees which were discussing the fundamental rights of transgender people in Croatia.

The Committees of Human and National Minority Rights and Gender Equality of the Croatian Parliament were looking into recommendations on how to better implement the law on State Registry, the complementary ordinance on the collection of medical records of sex change and the defining conditions and prerequisites for sex change and life in another identity. The Joint Parliamentary Committee meeting, which also included civil society organisations, the Ombudsperson's office, and several Ministries, discussed how trans people in Croatia enjoy their fundamental rights.
