The FRA Director presented selected findings about Roma discrimination from its second EU minorities and discrimination survey during the European Roma Platform meeting on 29 November in Brussels.
He spoke of how 80% of Roma surveyed are at risk of poverty compared with an EU average of 17%. He underlined how this is a primorial violation of fundamental rights. To help tackle such issues policy makers require data, which the Agency’s survey provides. The findings fed into discussions among a broad range of stakeholders as they discussed progress in implementing the EU Framework of National Roma Integration Strategies up to 2020.
