Project staff of FRA’s contractor who will carry out the research are being trained. The aim of the project is to analyse the fundamental rights implications of collecting, storing and using biometric data in the Eurodac, SIS II and VIS databases for immigration, asylum and border control purposes.

The field research will focus on issues such as: fingerprinting; the right to information; reliability of non-biometric data; identification of victims of crime and vulnerable groups; risk assessment in the entry process; access to databases by law-enforcement; transfer of personal data to third countries etc.
