On 12 July, FRA attended the opening conference of the National Roma Platform in Croatia.
The National Roma Platform is a project organized by the National Roma Contact Points in EU Member States and sponsored by the European Commission (specifically the Directorate-General for Justice and Consumers).
It was developed to follow the model of the EU Roma Platform and to respond to calls for more extensive involvement from civil society (including NGOs), local and regional authorities in Roma integration processes in the EU. FRA presented the monitoring and evaluation framework of the National Roma Integration Strategies in the EU Member States from a fundamental rights angle.
The Agency also shared its experiences of conducting research for its Local Engagement for Roma Inclusion project. The National Roma Platform will continue by conducting further dialogue in individual regions of Croatia.
