They discussed the outcomes of FRA’s recent Fundamental Rights Forum, findings from its Fundamental Rights Report 2016 and its work on child rights, on the challenges faced by LGBTI people and on Roma integration. Romanian parliamentarians were particularly interested in FRA evidence and advice on child rights, especially how the rights of children and minors in judiciary proceedings can be better safeguarded in practice.

FRA comparative data on the situation of minorities were welcomed as a solid base for any future legislation and policies, and the Romanian delegation was also interested in learning about the forthcoming results of Agency’s survey on the experiences of immigrant and ethnic minority people (EU MIDIS II), particularly in the context of the situation of Roma minorities.
