Assessing progress in protecting migrant children

The Agency took part in the first European Commission meeting of experts on the protection of children in migration.

The meeting in Brussels on 1 December sought to take stock of the implementation of the European Commission’s Recommendation on the protection of children in migration adopted in April 2017.

Member States raised such challenges as how to address married children, children in detention and missing children.

The Agency presented its work on guardianship, on promotion of alternatives to detention, on the hotspots in Greece and Italy, and on mapping of legal minimum ages.
