The Agency took part in the regular European Commission consultation with EU umbrella Roma and pro-Roma civil society and international organisations on 31 January in Brussels.
The meeting discussed the follow-up to the 10th meeting of the European Platform for Roma inclusion, the midterm review of the EU Framework for National Roma Integration Strategies and the Roma integration measures reporting tool.
The reporting tool is based on a first reporting template developed by the FRA-coordinated Roma Working Party on monitoring Roma integration, which the European Commission then developed online to support structured reporting and improve transparency when monitoring national Roma integration strategies. The meeting was attended by representatives from the European Commission, UNHCHR, Unicef and key civil society organisations.
FRA also met with representatives of the European Parliament and NGOs to discuss cooperation in the area of Roma, in particular during the European Parliament’s Roma Week. Here, the Agency will co-organise a workshop on monitoring the EU framework / mid-term review jointly with the Parliament’s Anti-Racism and Diversity (ARDI) Intergroup, MEPs, the European Commission and civil society organisations. The event will take place on 28 March in Brussels.
