European Fisheries Control Agency adopts a rights-based code of conduct

The European Fisheries Control Agency (EFCA) adopted a code of conduct for officials they deploy during operations.

The Code aims to promote professional values based on the principles of the rule of law and full respect of fundamental rights. They also aim to establish the ethical and behavioural standards that guide all people participating in EFCA activities. FRA supports such initiatives.

At the request of the European Parliament, FRA recently presented an opinion on the implementation of the EU’s Fundamental Rights Charter in which it called on all EU agencies to develop tools and mechanisms that can contribute to a better implementation of the EU‘s bill of rights.
