Examining measures to counter Roma segregation in Hungary

A fact-finding mission to Hungary took place on 9-13 September.

It aimed to check the application of the legal amendments and the implementation of recent measures that aim to prevent and eliminate Roma segregation that were reported by Hungary under the infringement procedure and the European Semester process.

The mission also focused on the role of church schools in (de)segregation and the importance of data collection to monitor desegregation trends. It also sought to review the implementation of relevant court decisions on school segregation.
