The meeting, hosted by the European Asylum Support Office in Valletta on 6 and 7 November, was attended by 16 Member States, European Commission, the UN’s Refugee Agency and NGOs.

The network’s aim is to exchange information, build capacity, develop practical tools and discuss common challenges. The participants agreed on a number of priorities and activities to be implemented during 2019.

Activities suggested include mapping vulnerability assessment methods across Member States, providing guidance on the impact of data protection regulation in the exchange of information between different authorities, and increase the exchange of practices on how to deal with mental health issues in the asylum process.
