At the Global Constructive Journalism Conference in Geneva on 18 January, participants explored values-based communications as a means to restore trust in media.
At the event, FRA’s 10 Keys to effectively communicating human rights was distributed to audience of 570 journalists and media experts. The conference discussed why and how media can combat trivialisation and sensationalism by emphasising reporting that is more accurate, balanced and solutions-focused.
FRA’s media toolkit will follow this approach. It will act as a one-stop-shop of news examples, know-how tips and information sources for journalists covering news where a fundamental rights angle is needed to enhance credibility, accountability and humanity.
