Sexual harassment of women and girls with disabilities

On 30 March, FRA took part in a conference call with UN Women on sexual harassment of women and girls with disabilities.

The UN Women’s Executive Coordinator and Spokesperson on Addressing Sexual Harassment and Other Forms of Discrimination, Purna Sen led the call.

The goal of UN Women’s work in this area is to strengthen a gender perspective in the promotion of rights of people with disabilities. This includes developing intersectional approaches for addressing sexual harassment.

FRA shared the results and findings of a number of its past publications, including its 2014 survey on violence against women and report on violence against children with disabilities, as well as its work on victims of crime and the upcoming data collected in the context of its fundamental rights survey.
