Developments in measuring violence against women

The European Society of Criminology held its annual conference in Malaga from 21 to 24 September.

FRA took part in a panel session organised by INEGI – the national statistical institute of Mexico and UN centre of excellence in crime statistics. The panel discussed developments in measuring violence against women.

FRA presented results from the agency’s Fundamental Rights Survey, focussing on experiences of physical violence among women and men across the EU. It also spoke about the action people would be willing to take when they witness intimate partner violence taking place in a public setting – as reported in FRA’s Crime, Safety and Victims’ Rights report.
