FRA supports fundamental rights compliance of new EU IT border systems

FRA took part in two Frontex working group meetings for Member States on screening rules for ETIAS, the European Travel Information and Authorisation System. FRA is a member of the ETIAS Fundamental Rights Guidance Board.

FRA also delivered fundamental rights training on the Entry-Exit System (EES) at a Frontex event in Narva, Estonia. The Entry-Exit system is foreseen to enter into operation in autumn 2024. ETIAS should be ready by spring 2025.
