New FRA Youth Advisory Panel: Young people voice their opinions on fundamental rights

FRA pilot youth advisory panel with FRA Director.
The European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) is piloting a Youth Advisory Panel to amplify young people's voices on fundamental rights issues in the EU. The panel consists of seven diverse young people aged 18-25 with experience in civil society work and youth advocacy.

FRA aims to better address the fundamental rights issues that matter most to young people. The panel members will provide feedback on the agency's activities from a youth perspective to ensure young people's voices are heard.

The panel, which will operate for two years, will advise FRA's Director on future priorities. As a pilot project, it will also play a major role in developing the structure and rules for the future Youth Advisory Panel.

The panel began with meetings at FRA on 4 to 6 April 2025, when the members took part in a series of discussions and activities to set the scene.

This is a significant step towards fostering youth participation in fundamental rights issues, particularly for vulnerable groups.

FRA's decision to establish the pilot Youth Advisory Panel is part of a broader effort to promote a more inclusive approach to fundamental rights, where young people's voices are heard and valued.
