Council Working Group discusses racism and antisemitism

FRA addressed the Council of the EU’s Fundamental Rights, Citizens Rights and Free Movement of Persons Working Group (FREMP) on 23 February.

The meeting covered racism and antisemitism.

FRA summarised the current situation relating to racism and antisemitism in the EU, drawing on relevant data and other research evidence.

The Working Party took stock of the most recent developments at EU-level and in the Member States. It looked at links with international partners, such as the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA).

The session sought to outline working methods in the Council, as well as how Member States intend to develop their national efforts in this area.

The meeting also served to prepare for the planned exchange of views at the Justice and Home Affairs Council on 9 and 10 March.

FRA Director’s will attend and speak during the Council meeting.
