On 4 December, the agency and the European Expert Group on transition from institutional to community-based care, will launch the findings of FRA's research at a seminar in Brussels. It will be an opportunity to reflect on the findings and to discuss how this evidence can support policy makers and practitioners to implement the transition from institutional to community living successfully.
On 26 November in Brussels, the Agency will take part in the launch of the Community Living for Europe: Structural Funds Watch report on achievements and challenges in using EU funds to support community living.
The Agency will launch three reports on the right to independent living of people with disabilities at the ‘Dignity + Independent living = DI (deinstitutionalisation)’ conference in Tallinn on 12-13 October.
The Agency will present its work on human rights indicators on the right to independent living of people with disabilities at the annual meeting of the European Network of Academic Experts in the field of disability.
On 19 April in Geneva, FRA will take part in a day of general discussion on Article 19 of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) on the right to live independently and be included in the community.
FRA will present its project on the right to independent living of persons with disabilities at a meeting of the European Expert Group on the transition from institutional to community-based care on 25 February in Brussels.
The European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions (Eurofound), in cooperation with FRA, will host an expert meeting to discuss future research on the rights and quality of life of people with disabilities in Dublin on 31 October.
FRA will co-host a workshop on indicators for measuring implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) during the meeting of the CRPD Working Group of the Eurogroup of NHRIs in Helsinki on 19-20 May.
